Modelling Interstellar-Medium Spectroscopic Features

Very frequently when analysing spectra of stars we come into contact with features in the spectra which are not stellar actually, but rather from the interstellar medium (ISM). Namely, in the ultraviolet we find atomic and molecular hydrogen lines. In the optical very frequently one find diffuse interstellar bands. In the infrared we have telluric lines from our own Earth's atmosphere. These features often overlap with spectroscopic lines from the stars, which are used to infer physical properties of these objects. Hence, the idea of this project is to build a Python script/function/class modelling these ISM spectroscopic features. Such ISM spectral features can be then added to synthetic spectra for better comparison with observations.
